Day 1 - 7: 6 Night First Passage to the West Calgary to Vancouver - GoldLeaf

Day 1 - Calgary

Your Rocky Mountaineer adventure begins with a day at leisure in Calgary

Overnight: Fairmont Palliser Hotel or similar


Day 2 - Calgary to Banff

Depart Calgary for a full day tour, concluding in Banff. Journey to Kananaskis where you will enjoy the highlight of the day, a 12-minute Panoramic Helicopter tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Continue on to Banff for a sightseeing tour including Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Your tour ends on arrival in Banff late on the afternoon.

Day 3 - Banff to Lake Louise

A half day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning Kicking Horse River. The tour ends in Lake Louise, where you will overnight.

Day 4 - Lake Louise to Kamloops

Board the Rocky Mountaineer train in Lake Louise at 9.00am to travel to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia's interior. Today's highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie. Arrive in Kamloops in the evening.


Day 5 - Kamloops to Vancouver

Reboard the Rocky Mountaineer train in Kamloops at 7.35am. On today's journey west you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the interior to the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Arrive in Vancouver in the evening.

Day 6 - Vancouver

Today select from one of four activity options in Vancouver:

1) Enjoy a six-hour sightseeing tour of Vancouver's spectacular North Shore

2) A five-hour guided cycling tour of Vancouver's highlights, experiencing the best of Vancouver's food, history, ecology and culture.

3) Take part in an in-depth "Made in BC" food tour on Granville Island

4) Experience the Howe Sound coast line from an inflatable boat on a sea safari

Day 1

At approx 9am, depart in a float plane from Anchorage for a straight flight to the lodge (flight time around 1.5 hours). Upon arrival at the lodge you will be welcomed by the staff. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the area and settle in.


Day 2

After breakfast, spend the day enjoying one of the many included or optional activities. Following dinner, relax in the hot tub and sauna or visit the solarium to share our adventure from the day.

Daily guided activities include sea kayaking, local sportfishing, beachcombing and tidal-pool exploration, coastal touring by boat, nature trail hiking. During your stay, one choice of a deep sea fishing or bear viewing trip is included.


Day 3

After breakfast, depart the lodge at approx 9am for the float plane flight back to Anchorage.
