Arrive 0800, depart 1600.
Saint-Pierre et Miqhelon are a group of small French islands in the North Atlantic Ocean. The two main islands, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, are territories of France and were claimed by the French in the early 17th century. These two islands are the last remnants of the country's possessions on this continent.
Today, both of the main islands are modern but quaint French settlements, with the official language being French. Both enjoy a mild climate, so landscapes are green and particularly picturesque during the summer months. The islands are both fairly small, so you can get around to most places on foot. However, guests must be aware that the town of Saint-Pierre has a lot of sloping streets, which may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties. Scenic walks can be taken along the seafront if you want to discover the islands' beauty. If you're more interested in the history of these French islands, you can visit various museums. Saint-Pierre is home to Musée Héritage, which has many religious and medical artefacts from the 19th and 20th centuries. Or in Miquelon, take a look around the Musée de Miquelon, which offers a unique insight into the heritage of this island.
The official currency of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon is the euro, and you'll find a handful of restaurants, bars and shops on both. The local cuisine is mainly French, with a particular preference to seafood.
