Sunday - Paris to Dijon
Depart Paris, Gare de Lyon, on the TGV train in the afternoon. On arrival at Dijon station you are met by the Afloat in France guide who escorts you on your transfer to Escommes where you board the barge for your cruise through Burgundy. A champagne reception welcomes you on board and gives you a chance to meet the crew. A cocktail cruise introduces you to the delights of cruising. Later that evening enjoy your first dining experience on board.

Monday - Golf. Cruise Pont d'Ouche
Visit Chateau de Pommard.
After breakfast, drive to Chateau de Chailly, this beautiful Chateau provides a fabulous back drop to their 18 hole golf course, or alternatively enjoy your first day cruising on the Canal de Bourgogne. Small unspoiled villages and green, forested hills provide the traveller with exceptional views from the deck. This afternoon, visit the Château of Pommard, a stunning building dating from 1726 and surrounded by its own vineyard. You will have the chance to visit its exceptional cellar and sample its wines.

Tuesday - Cruise to La Bussiére
Visit Beaune and Golf.
Relax on board this morning as the barge cruises towards the charming village of La Bussiére. After another delicious lunch your guide escorts you to Beaune, capital of the Burgundy wine producing region, for a visit to the famous Hôtel-Dieu, Hospice de Beaune. Alternatively, play a round of golf at Levernois, just 10 minutes drive from Beaune. It is an 18 hole golf course with a par of 72, and has a practice range and a putting green. Tonight's mooring is at another canal-side village, La Bussiere sur Ouche.

Wednesday - Cruise to Gissey
Visit l'Abbaye de La Bussiére.
Mid-morning, your guide takes you on a tour of l'Abbaye de la Bussiére built in the 12th century the guidance of the Cistercian monks from Citeaux. After a stroll in the grounds we have our lunch here. After lunch your guide takes you to visit Chateauneuf-en-Auxois a medieval hill-top village. This is followed by a tour of the stunning surrounding countryside, and the opportunity to see the entrance to the 2 mile long canal tunnel and the largest of the reservoirs which feed the Burgundy canal.

Thursday - Golf. Cruise to Fleurey-sur-Ouche
Visit Clos de Vougeot.
This morning there is the chance to play golf in Dijon, there is an 18 hole course with a par of 72. This course is very well maintained, with reasonably flat terrain and has lovely views. The boat continues cruises throughthe Côte d'Or, an area producing some of the world's most famous wines. After lunch, your guide takes you to visit "Clos de Vougeot", a medieval château surrounded by vineyards. This is the headquarters of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, whose special label is awarded annually to the finest Côte d'Or vintages. On your way back to the barge, enjoy a wine tasting in Vougeot.

Friday - Visit Dijon
Cruise to Dijon.
After breakfast, your guide takes you on a walking tour of Dijon, to visit the Ducal Palace, the market, and the Grey Poupon mustard shop. Return to the boat for lunch and the afternoon's cruise. The barge moors for the night in Dijon's Port du Canal, a short distance from the town centre. Meanwhile the chef is preparing a gala dinner for your last evening on board.

Saturday - Dijon to Paris
After breakfast, disembark and transfer to Dijon station for your return on the TGV to Paris, Gare de Lyon. On arrival in Paris you are met by the Afloat in France representative who will assist you with your luggage.

Afloat in France - Amaryllis Barge

The Amaryllis cruises through some of the most picturesque waterways in France, exploring the Burgundy countryside in exceptional Orient-Express style. Visit ancient chateaux and follow the wine trail through Beaune, or luxuriate on deck in the heated swimming pool as you drift past premier cru vines. The interior of this luxurious
peniche-hotel is traditionally French, with contemporary touches set off by Louis XVI and XV antiques. Settle into the comfortable lounge or linger over dishes cooked by cordon bleu chef and watch the magical French countryside unfold all around.

The barge carries up to eight people, making it perfect for large families, a reunion of friends or perhaps a group of wine-lovers enjoying the delights of Burgundy. Amaryllis has four generous cabins, each with king or twin beds. Each cabin has itw own en-suite bathroom crafted from marble, which either features a bathtub with an overhead shower or a shower with twin wash basins.

Lounge around in the heated pool during the day, then dine in splendour in the formal dining room. Or enjoy a delightful alfresco dinner as the main lounge doors are opened to the full width of the barge.
