Ports

Buenos Aires

This sophisticated Argentine jewel is the most European of South American capitals. Boulevards here are broader even than those in Paris. Nightlife beats to the pulse of the tango and bossa nova. Glamorous boutiques invite those looking for that special gift (leather is especially good value), while restaurants sizzle to the sound of succulent steaks.

Founded by the Spanish in 1720, the heart of Uruguay’s capital is home to some fine colonial architecture with beautiful 19th century houses and squares. Along the Rambla, the waterfront drive that stretches for 12 miles, you’ll discover sun-kissed beaches and sculpture-filled parks. Let yourself be tempted by several casinos, or stylish boutiques where suedes and amethysts are hard to resist.

Chalet-style houses with ornate balconies will make you double-take this morning. Founded by German settlers in the mid 19th Century, Chile’s gateway to its spectacular lake district has a distinctly Alpine feel about it. From here, you’ve the chance to take in the best views of the region’s waterfalls, rivers and lakes, as well as Mt. Osorno with its snowcapped peak. Other highlights include the emerald green waters of Lake Todos Los Santos, more commonly known as Lake Esmeralda and described by Theodore Roosevelt as the most beautiful lake he had ever seen.

Stroll its cobbled streets and quiet plazas, or head to Muelle Prat, a lively market. Just an hour inland is Santiago de Chile, founded in 1541 by the Conquistadors, and an impressive city of Spanish Colonial styles and old world, European architecture.

Santiago is the economic and cultural hub of the country, occupying a spectacular basin at the foot of the highest peaks of the Andes. Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises

Since its inception in 1989, Celebrity has held true to its original commitment of taking the very best aspects of classic, elegant cruising and updating them to reflect current lifestyles. In 1997, we merged with Royal Caribbean International to form Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

What sets Celebrity apart from other vacation choices today is the cruise line's passionate dedication to providing guests with a cruise experience that exceeds expectations. This extraordinary performance level has become the definition of Celebrity Cruises, and has set the worldwide standard for today's expression of what first made cruising famous -- high quality, superior design, spacious accommodations, grand style, attentive service and exceptional cuisine.

The excellence of Celebrity's existing cruise product continues with the cruise line's Millennium-class ships, which embody even greater technical achievement and meaningful innovation, while retaining the distinctive style, sophistication and service elements that have become the hallmark of a Celebrity cruise.

Celebrity Cruises has recently announced a new “Extend Your Stay” program. Providing guests with convenience and relaxation, it will appeal to those facing waits at the airport before long flights home. In addition to the benefit of a leisurely last day onboard, the program allows guests to stay in their stateroom until 9am on the day the cruise ends - one hour later than the standard time by which the guest is typically asked to depart. Guests who participate in “Extend Your Stay” also can enjoy some of the ship’s services until as late as 90 minutes before the next cruise sets sail.

The program includes a benefits such as non-alcoholic specialty coffees and teas from Café al Bacio; a meal in the creperie-focused specialty restaurant, Bistro on Five; the opportunity to watch a first-run movie in one of the ship’s theaters; and access to the pool, fitness center and locker rooms. The AquaSpa will be available for spa services at an additional charge. Bar purchases can be made on the last day of the cruise using a credit card.

“Extend Your Stay” is being offered for the remaining 2011 Europe season on Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Solstice and the brand-new Celebrity Silhouette. The program also will be available for future Europe seasons. Extend Your Stay departure times may vary by ship and itinerary based on local immigration regulations.
