Frederiksted

Frederiksted, named after Frederick V of Denmark, is the home of Fort Frederik, previously built to protect the town from pirate attacks. It also has an interesting history of a large-scale revolt resulting in the destruction of the town by slaves in October 1878 which has seen been rebuilt, though remnants of the revolt this remains.
