Country - Norway Distance from port to City - 0kms Distance from port to Airport - 7kms Currency - Kroner (NOK) Places of Interest Polar Museum, Northen Lights Planetarium, Polaria Artic Centre Solovetsky IslandsThis archipelago consists of six islands known collectively as the Solovki. The islands offer rich marine life, Pomor villages, prehistoric stone labyrinths, pink granite, medieval monasteries, gulag museums and remnants of ancient cultures. One interesting feature of these islands is stone labyrinths and other stone settings, especially the Stone labyrinths of Bolshoi Zayatsky Island. Such labyrinths were typical for Northern Europe, but most have perished and now Solovetsky Islands have some of the best remaining examples. Country - Russia Places of Interest Novaya ZemlyaNovaya Zemlya consists of two major islands, separated by the narrow Matochkin Strait, and a number of smaller islands. The two main islands are Severny (northern) and Yuzhny (southern). Novaya Zemlya separates the Barents Sea from the Kara Sea. The total area is about 90,650 square kilometres. The ecology of Novaya Zemlya is influenced by its severe climate, but the region nevertheless supports a diversity of biota. One of the most notable species present is the polar bear, whose population in the Barents Sea region is genetically distinct from other polar bear subpopulations.
